Almost As Good As Getting Carded
So, I'm soon to be 28, and regularly get carded. Not that I mind. And I know I'll appreciate it even more as I get older.
Tonight though I got a similar compliment. I went to dinner at a Korean BBQ joint with my brother, and the hostess commented we were obviously brother and sister (we both have red hair). We said confirmed it and she looked at J2 and said "Big Brother out to dinner with little sister. How cute". I laughed and said no, I'm older, much older, but thanks!
How much older? J2 just turned 20, so I am almost a full 8 years older than him.
Love it!

Yet Another Blog
So I started another blog, this one at Wordpress, to document my cross country move across San Francisco. This is my personal blog, where I am more open about feelings and emotions, and no one reads it (well one does, and I love her dearly), so the Wordpress one will be more casual.

Moving To San Francisco
In less than a week!!!!!!
Yes, next Tuesday I will drive across the country. I've lucked out very much, found a perfect sublet for 2.5 months to help me get assimilated and find a perm. apt. As many of you know, I've had some interviews and interest from companies out there. So I'm taking a leap and risk and just moving out. I feel pretty good I'll find a job out there eventually. And hey, if I don't, well at least I'm in San Francisco and it's a cool place to live! LOL. Seriously, its a good test run time, and worst case, I end up back on the east coast and in some blech job. I just feel this is what I have to do. And the sublet came together so perfectly, it was the first I contacted and was a done deal in less than 24 hours. Hopefully more doors will open when I get out there. But sometimes life needs risk, and I think this is one I need to do.
I am so excited, thrilled and happy. A new adventure and a new chapter in my life!

San Francisco
Well, I leave tomorrow, and this has been one of the best weeks I have had in months.
The area is fantastic. Its a beautiful city, lots to offer, wonderful weather, and the surrounding areas are amazing. I love it here. I do not want to leave.
My interview went really well. I am really hoping for this job. I want this job more than any job I have ever been up for, even the MLB team job. Yeah, I want this job BIG time. The company is great, good pay and benefits, and would be a huge stepping stone in my career. Plus I fell in love with the area, and met lots of amazing people I am sad to leave behind. I hope this is all a sign for everything to fall into place. I just feel the area, job and culture here suits me perfectly. I will be heartbroken if I don't get this job and move out here.
So please, everyone send lots of prayer, karma and good luck my way. This job and move would make the last 10 months of struggling be worth it.
I got some amazing photos from all my sightseeing. I will post them soon.

Time of Blog: 10:39 PM EST
That is for Susan, who think I blog at 4 AM. I have Blogger set to GMT time silly!
Ok, so I've got good news and bad news. Bad news first.
I got a terrible haircut. I mean yikes, egads, OMG!. I went in to get 4-5 inches cut, plus new bangs, and walked out with a cut that took off 12 inches! My hair barely comes past my shoulders. And my bangs are too short and too thin. It'll take months to look decent, let alone to where I wanted it! I cried so much. It is a dis-as-ter.
On the good news front, I'm going to San Francisco!! YAY! The big international PR firm I mentioned last week is having me come in for an in-person interview. I'm also lining up some other meetings and interviews. My lovely friend in the area is letting me crash for a whole week! So I have plenty of time to schedule stuff, plus explore and check out the area. I'm renting a car and will def take a day or two to explore the region in general. I mean, I better find out if I could live there! Not like there is much doubt, everyone has told me I would love it there. And it is filled with three things I love: art, Asians and gays! Plus it's a beautiful, open-minded, pet friendly city. I have a feeling I'm not going to want to leave. So I better get this job! Not to mention getting a foot in this company would be outstanding. They have offices all over the world. Maybe I can use it to get to Vancouver eventually :)
So the countdown to SF begins............now.

The Past Three Days Recap
Saturday:
I spent the entire day at the Dutch Gap Conservatory walking, enjoying nature and taking tons of photos. The trail is four miles one way, and I made it almost to the end, so I walked close to eight miles Saturday. It's a lovely area along the James River with lagoons, docks, beaches, shipwrecks and numerous wildlife. I took a few great photos if I do say so myself and you can see them here.
Sunday:
Went to go see the film Be Kind Rewind, staring Jack Black, Mos Def, Danny Glover and Mia Farrow (directed by Michael Gondry). I loved it! The trailer makes it look like another crazy "Jack Black comedy". Black becomes magnetized and erases the entire contents of the video store his friend (Def) works at. So they team up and recreate the films and of course, business takes off. But the plot is deeper - Glover, the store owner, is in danger of losing his store. It looks like the business may be able to be saved, but the dreaded copyright law police come in and ruin the day (as always!). I won't give away the ending, but it was incredibly bittersweet. The movie, while hilarious with the makeshift films, was very heartwarming. I loved it and Def gave an amazing performance. Go see it!
Monday (Today):
I had an interview with a large international PR firm and I think it went very well. I hate to sound cocky, but I do anticipate a second/final interview. Luckily the office has three openings, so I think that ups my chances. This would be a great city to work in, a great company to be a part of, and would give me endless opportunities. So yeah. I want this job! Fingers crossed!!! I'll keep everyone posted.
